In Ohio, a tragic incident unfolded as a man shot and killed an Uber driver named Loletha Hall. The shooter, identified as William Brock, claimed he believed Hall was involved in a scam against him. He alleged that a scammer had demanded money and threatened him over the phone, leading him to mistakenly target Hall.
At the time of the shooting, Hall was simply responding to a request on the Uber app to pick up a package from Brock’s residence. Police clarified that Hall was unaware of any attempted extortion or threats.
William Brock now faces charges of murder and has pleaded not guilty to the accusation. CNN reached out to both Hall’s family and Brock’s defense attorney, Paul Kavanagh, for further comments on the matter.
